RE: Ethics Board Docket No. 97-171

Dear Mr. Monroe:

The Louisiana Board of Ethics, at its March 20-21, 1997 meeting, considered your request to waive the statutory late fees automatically imposed on you for the late filing of your Lobbying Expenditure Report due February 15, 1997. Because your report was filed more than ten days after the due date, the Board also considered the imposition of additional civil penalties.

The Board declined to waive the automatic late fees; however, the Board has indicated that it will decline to schedule an administrative hearing to collect additional civil penalties which may be imposed because your report was more than ten days late provided that you agree to pay the automatic late fee of $650.00 already imposed.

Please submit your check or money order made payable to the State of Louisiana no later than May 1, 1997.
